Alpina pasará a formar parte de la marca BMW a finales de año, pero la familia Bovensiepen seguirá ofreciendo automóviles independientes. La nueva marca lleva el sonoro apellido familiar y se ha marcado como objetivo combinar la ingeniería bávara con el diseño italiano, y ha encontrado nada menos que un socio en Zagato. El primer vehículo de la colaboración entre dos familias tan exitosas como ricas en tradición se llama apropiadamente Bovensiepen Zagato y fue presentado hace unos minutos en el Lago de Como.
Bajo la piel exterior del coupé, hecha en gran parte de carbono, se esconde un BMW M4 actual, que los conocedores pueden reconocer en el interior y también en algunos detalles exteriores como los retrovisores exteriores, los faros y los pilotos traseros. Aunque el Bovensiepen Zagato es un coupé y siempre mantiene el techo cerrado, debajo de la carrocería de fibra de carbono se esconde un BMW M4 Convertible (G83 LCI): este enfoque dio a los diseñadores de Zagato mucha más libertad en el diseño del techo, ya que desde un punto de vista técnico es más bien un techo rígido fijo de forma permanente. Los faros son del Serie 4, pero están parcialmente cubiertos en la zona superior y por eso parecen mucho más estrechos. También están posicionados más abajo y más adelante, lo que contribuye a una apariencia mucho más agresiva.
Cada vehículo se fabrica a mano en Buchloe, por lo que las posibilidades de personalización en el interior son prácticamente ilimitadas. Está claro que el Bovensiepen Zagato no competirá con los precios ni con las cifras de producción de M GmbH: como máximo se prevé una cifra baja de tres dígitos, también porque la homologación para el mercado estadounidense y Japón todavía no se ha completado.

Para nuestra sorpresa, el Speedtop no es el único BMW fabricado que debuta este fin de semana en el Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Puede que no lleve el emblema, pero este nuevo coupé de alto rendimiento es claramente un M4 con una magnífica carrocería diseñada por Zagato. Andreas y Florian Bovensiepen, hijos del difunto fundador de ALPINA, Burkard Bovensiepen, han creado una nueva empresa que lleva el apellido familiar. Como era de esperar, también tiene su sede en Buchloe, donde reside el nuevo miembro del Grupo BMW.
Basado en el rediseño del M4 lanzado el año pasado, el Bovensiepen Zagato presenta una carrocería a medida con el característico techo de doble burbuja de la casa de diseño italiana. Los llamativos riñones de BMW han desaparecido y se han sustituido por una parrilla de acero inoxidable más sutil. Su diseño de panal negro se repite en las grandes tomas de aire. Si bien la silueta del M4 resulta familiar al instante, los paneles de la carrocería son completamente nuevos y, en su mayoría, están fabricados en fibra de carbono.
Incluso la tapa del maletero se ha rediseñado para incorporar un sutil alerón de cola de pato, mucho menos llamativo que el del M2 CS , también presentado a orillas del Lago de Como. El estilo general se inclina hacia el de un gran turismo elegante más que hacia el de un cupé agresivo. La posibilidad de bajar las ventanillas traseras y la ausencia de pilares B sugieren que el Bovensiepen Zagato se basa en el M4 Convertible (G83), pero con techo fijo.
Aunque el exterior se distancia de sus raíces BMW, el habitáculo aún evoca el M4. Pero aunque el interior se ha mantenido prácticamente intacto, Bovensiepen dedica más de 130 horas a cada coche para instalar el cuero Lavalina completo. Los clientes pueden elegir entre docenas de colores de cuero y combinarlos con Alcantara. En total, el vehículo requiere 250 horas de construcción e incluye más de 400 piezas a medida. El asiento trasero refuerza nuestra opinión de que el coche está basado en el G83.
Llegados a este punto, probablemente te estés preguntando qué lo impulsa. El Bovensiepen Zagato utiliza un motor de seis cilindros en línea de 3.0 litros, presumiblemente el S58 biturbo del M4. Alcanza una velocidad máxima de más de 300 km/h y pesa 1875 kg, similar al M4 descapotable. Además de su nueva carrocería y motor mejorado, el Bovensiepen Zagato incorpora llantas forjadas de 20 pulgadas a medida, amortiguadores Bilstein y un sistema de escape de titanio Akrapovic.
Bovensiepen anunciará los detalles de precios y las cifras de producción en el cuarto trimestre del año. Suponemos que será significativamente más caro que el M4 Convertible, cuyo precio inicial en Alemania es de 112.700 €. Las entregas están previstas para el segundo trimestre de 2026. The Bovensiepen Zagato is optionally available with a full Lavalina® leather interior. An experienced saddler covers nearly every surface in the cabin with this exquisite material in more than 130 hours of craftsmanship. Each interior is made up of more than 390 leather cuttings and uses more than 1.800 metres of yarn.
The Lavalina® colour palette includes 16 standard colours. In addition, any desired colours can be realized via the Bovensiepen Bespoke program. The leather can be combined with Alcantara, which is available in 45 additional colours and harmonizes particularly well with Lavalina®.

Bovensiepen Zagato: Alpina founder reveals 603bhp coachbuilt GT
Bovensiepen family launches a new coachbuilding outfit with a Zagato-styled Bentley Conti GT rival
The Bovensiepen family, founders of legendary German BMW tuning house Alpina, have launched their own coachbuilding business with the unveiling of a new 600bhp super-GT at the Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganza.
With Alpina now owned by BMW itself, the family is shifting its focus to become "a manufacturer of outstanding automobiles that embody the ambition of fine driving".
The first post-Alpina project from the outfit – named simply Bovensiepen – is an imposing, BMW M4-based grand tourer called Zagato, in reference to the famous Italian design house responsible for its styling.
Zagato has previously collaborated with Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley, Maserati and Alfa Romeo, and its first effort for Bovensiepen is described as "a harmonious composition of individual design" which "features and bears the unmistakable signature of the traditional Milanese design studio".
It is said to take more than 250 hours to build the Zagato, of which production will be "strictly limited" - though no precise figure has been given. Pricing and availability will be given at the end of this year, ahead of deliveries beginning in summer next year.
Each car can be, Bovensiepen promises, "as unique as its owner", with extensive personalisation options available for the interior and exterior.
It is extensively differentiated from the BMW on which it is based by a totally bespoke treatment at the front and rear, a reshaped bonnet and side profile, and Zagato's trademark 'double bubble' roof.
The Bovensiepen Zagato features a 3.0-litre straight six engine that produces 603bhp and 516lb ft for a 0-62mph time of just 3.3 seconds, and a top speed in excess of 186mph, Bovensiepen claims.
It has bespoke Bilstein dampers that can be configured in three driving modes – Comforst, Sport and Sport Plus – which Bovensiepen says offers "a range from pronounced comfort to athletic driving dynamics". It also gains a lightweight, twin-exit titanium exhaust system from Akrapovic, which is said to be 40% lighter than the standard system.
BMW will reveal the next steps for the Alpina brand in 2026, it has said, with ex-Polestar designer Max Missoni joining the German firm to lead the styling for all luxury models, including Alpinas.
The Bovensiepen Zagato's unveiling comes just a day after BMW revealed its own 8 Series-based special edition, the £430,000 Speedtop shooting brake, which is due in production next year.

El Bovensiepen Zagato fue sin duda una de las mayores sorpresas en el Lago de Como, ya que el primer vehículo de la nueva empresa del jefe de Alpina, Andreas Bovensiepen, llegó al Fuori Concorso prácticamente sin previo aviso: aunque ya se sabía desde hacía tiempo que la empresa con sede en Buchloe seguiría centrándose en los modelos históricos de Alpina, casi nadie esperaba la oferta paralela de sus propios coches nuevos. Como ya quedó claro desde el sábado, la familia Bovensiepen quiere combinar el ADN bávaro de sus propios vehículos con el del estudio de diseño italiano Zagato y crear así otros automóviles de alta gama basados en BMW.
Ahora que el entusiasmo por el estreno mundial ha disminuido un poco y menos personas se distraen del diseño del vehículo, otro conjunto de fotos nos brinda impresiones adicionales del diseño del Bovensiepen Zagato. El BMW M4, que se utilizó como base técnica, solo se puede reconocer por algunos detalles como los faros, ya que el coupé tiene una piel exterior completamente rediseñada y hecha de carbono. A diferencia del M4 Coupé (G82) de Garching, la alternativa de Buchloe también viene sin un pilar B visible, lo que contribuye en gran medida a una apariencia exclusiva, especialmente con las ventanillas laterales bajadas.
El diseño independiente es posible porque el Bovensiepen Zagato se basa en el BMW M4 Convertible (G83), cuya rigidez y estructura de protección contra impactos también fueron diseñadas sin pilares B visibles o un techo de acero clásico. Y lo mejor de todo es que también es mucho más potente: los expertos de Buchloe, que en su día se dedicaron a mejorar el rendimiento de los motores Alpina, han elevado el S58 de seis cilindros en línea biturbo de 3,0 litros a 611 CV y 700 Newton metro de par. Gracias a la tracción total, el Gran Turismo acelera de 0 a 100 km/h en 3,3 segundos y, como la mayoría de los modelos Alpina, la velocidad máxima supera los 300 km/h.
Como lo revelan las matrículas, el Zagato es solo el comienzo: la inscripción "The First of Fine Driving" seguramente puede entenderse como un anuncio de que otros modelos de la nueva marca Bovensiepen seguirán al coupé.
