Infinitas, a German manufacturer of performance-focused BMW parts, has just announced its new ‘Hybrid Charger’ system for the S55B30 engine powering F8x series M3 and M4 models as well as the M2 Competition and M2 CS.

The system consists of a combined compressor and biturbo charging, with the compressor connected upstream from the OEM turbochargers. This system pre-compresses the air before it enters the turbochargers resulting in higher boost pressures, reducing turbo lag, and also improving throttle and engine response.
The entry-level version of this system boosts the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine to 600 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, an increase of up to 190 hp and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) over the standard engine. This kit also includes an extended belt drive, a new air duct with a sports air filter, large-volume cast aluminum tubes, a die-cast aluminum charge air cooler between the compressor and turbochargers, and reprogrammed engine control software.
BMW M2 Competition, M2 CS, M3 and M4 owners can purchase the kit from Infinitas for €6,998 ($8,288), plus €2,112 ($2,501) for installation.
