¿2022 BMW X7 Facelift espiada con faros de montaje inferior?
¿Los nuevos faros crearán tanta controversia como la parrilla?
Ahora que la gente está empezando a acostumbrarse (¿o sí?) Al nuevo diseño de la parrilla delantera, BMW podría estar planeando otro cambio cosmético drástico. Visto anteriormente en los prototipos X8 , parece que el X7 más pequeño, pero aún enorme, tendrá un nuevo diseño de faros. El vehículo de prueba tenía mucho camuflaje para ocultar los cambios traídos por el Impulso del ciclo de vida (LCI), pero tenemos una idea vaga de lo que está sucediendo.
Parecería que los faros principales se colocarán significativamente más abajo en la fascia en comparación con el X7 actual, donde los grupos se ubican inmediatamente debajo del capó. Todavía puede haber algunas luces allí, con los vehículos de prueba X8 aparentemente mostrando una tira de LED delgada posiblemente para las luces de circulación diurna. En otras palabras, BMW podría estar planeando faros apilados para (al menos) sus dos SUV más grandes.
Ya podemos imaginar la controversia que generará este diseño, con la gente quejándose de que el X7 parece un Hyundai Santa Fe u otros vehículos con luces una encima de la otra. Eso es si BMW realmente tomará este camino para la actualización de medio ciclo del SUV, ya que no estamos del todo seguros. La única otra posibilidad que se me ocurre es que se trata de marcadores de posición, que en realidad parecen ser.
Por otra parte, ¿por qué BMW pondría las luces temporales más bajas que el punto habitual si el lavado de cara final del X7 tendrá los faros en su posición superior normal? Sería necesario hacer gastos inútiles para crear un parachoques delantero que se ajuste a esas luces solo para un prototipo. Estamos tentados a creer que el LCI vendrá con faros apilados o alguna otra configuración poco convencional.
Más allá de las luces, parece que el X7 actualizado mantendrá su gran parrilla sin adoptar el nuevo aspecto implementado en el Serie 4 Coupé, M3, M4 y el iX recientemente presentado. La parte trasera de lo que parece ser un prototipo M50i también está bañada en camuflaje, pero no esperamos que los cambios sean tan drásticos como los planeados para la parte delantera.
El X7 no es tan antiguo, ya que ha existido durante unos dos años. Es poco probable que el modelo revisado se estrene pronto, por lo que probablemente no lo veremos hasta finales de 2021.

2022 BMW X7 Facelift Spied With Lower-Mounted Headlights?
Will the new headlights create as much controversy as the grille?
Now that people are beginning to get used to (are they though?) the new front grille design, BMW might be planning another drastic cosmetic change. Previously seen on X8 prototypes, it looks the smaller-but-still-huge X7 is in for a new headlight layout. The test vehicle had a lot of camouflage to hide the changes brought by the Life Cycle Impulse (LCI), but we do get a vague idea about what’s going on.
It would seem the main headlights will be positioned significantly lower on the fascia compared to the current X7 where the clusters are located immediately below the hood. There still might be some lights there, with the X8 test vehicles seemingly showing a thin LED strip possibly for the daytime running lights. In other words, BMW could be planning stacked headlights for (at least) its two largest SUVs.
We can already imagine the controversy this layout will generate, with people complaining the X7 looks like a Hyundai Santa Fe or other vehicles with lights on top of each other. That is if BMW will indeed be going down this road for the SUV’s mid-cycle update as we’re not entirely sure. The only other possibility I could think of is these are placeholders, which they actually seem to be.
Then again, why would BMW put the temporary lights lower than the usual spot if the final X7 facelift will have the headlights in their regular upper position? It would require making pointless expenses to create a front bumper to fit those lights just for a prototype. We’re tempted to believe the LCI will indeed come with stacked headlights or some other unconventional setup.
Beyond the lights, it seems the updated X7 will keep its large grille without adopting the new look implemented in the 4 Series Coupe, M3, M4, and the recently unveiled iX. The rear end of what seems to be an M50i prototype is also dipped in camouflage, but we’re not expecting the changes to be as drastic as those planned for the front.
The X7 isn’t that old, having been around for about two years. The revised model is unlikely to debut anytime soon, so we’re probably not going to see it until towards the end of 2021.
