Vxr ?
Vauxhall's engineers have done a superb job in keeping the 240bhp front-drive VXR docile and sharp under hard acceleration. A decade ago, all that power would have been too unruly for a front-driver.
The three-door bodystyle is used for the VXR. Those after warm thrills but five-door practicality can opt for the 170bhp Turbo model.
Suspension has been lowered and partly tuned by Lotus' engineers.
Buyers can opt for Continuous Damping Control which adjusts the suspension's settings; considering the VXR's ride is very stiff under normal driving, it may be a box worth ticking if you do a lot of city miles.
Inside, Recaro sports seats keep the driver and passenger snug. Shame about the rather uninspired grey throughout though..
Three-spoke steering wheel emblazoned with VXR badging; carbon-effect inserts crowd the doors and facia. Unique alloy gearknob gets VXR logo too.
