MARCH 20, 2021 If you’re in the market for a premium sports sedan, you have quite a few models to choose from – and three you will be looking at are the BMW 330i, Alfa Romeo Giulia, and Genesis G70 3.3T. The 3-Series has long been the sports sedan staple and in 330i form, it features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 254 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Coupled to this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels, helping propel the car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.8 seconds. The Giulia featured in this three-way test also comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, albeit one that pumps out 280 hp and 306 lb-ft (415 Nm). It too is rear-wheel drive and proves to be an excellent car to drive. Last but not least is the Genesis G70 3.3T. While EverydayDriver could have decided to test the entry-level 2.0-liter turbo-four variant, the reviewers note that it is actually the flagship 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that matches up to the BMW and Alfa Romeo in terms of pricing. The reviewers have very positive things to say about the handling dynamics of all three, although they do have some issues. For example, the 330i doesn’t ride particularly well, while modulating the brakes on the Alfa Romeo Giulia proves very difficult. From a dynamics standpoint, the G70 is excellent. Which car comes out on top? We won’t ruin the result but the video is well worth watching.
